TOUR DESCRIPTION:​
Experience the wildlife and nature adventure of a lifetime on this  small group - personal whale watching tour. The custom made RIB boats allow you to get closer to the whales and puffins than any boats can offer. On this fun tour the fast, stable and safe boats also allow you to cover more area as we search for the wild life, thus increasing your chances of spotting whales, dolphins and bird-life. 

This great whale watching tour starts from the Old Harbour of Reykjavík and during the puffin season (early May to the end of August) you also visit the puffins in their natural habitat. Next you head out in search of the whales. There are very few things that will beat the experience of seeing the whales and dolphins as up close as you can at sea level from our RIB boats.

The whale watching boats used in this tour are equipped with high performance suspension seats. These shock absorbing seats increase safety and comfort and reduce the risk of injuries. So you can comfortably & securely enjoy your whale watching adventure out on the North Atlantic waters. 

After the whale safari you travel back to Reykjavík, where you will take ride along the city's shore line, experiencing a unique panoramic view of Reykjavík from the sea (perfect for photos).

DEPARTURE TIMES AND DATES: 

• From the 15th of April to the 31st of May two departures a day at 10:00 and 14:00.
• From the 1st of June to the 30th of June four departures a day at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 & 20.00
• From the 1st of July to the 31st of August  eight departures a day at 09.00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 & an evening departure at 20:00.
• From the 1st of September to the 30th of September three departures a day at 10:00. 13.00 & 15.00.
• From the 1st of October to the 31st of October two departures a day at 10:00 and 14.00.

If no whales or dolphins make an appearance on your tour the tour operator will offer you a complimentary ticket valid for two years.

• The tour has an age limit of 10 years & height limit of 145 CM
• This tour may not be suitable for pregnant women. Consult your doctor before signing up.
• This tour is not recommended for those with history of back problems or severe heart conditions. Consult your doctor before signing up.
• This tour may not be suitable for those over the age of 65 years.
• Puffin season is from approximately May - August

Cancellations due to weather:  This tour depends on weather and sea conditions so sometimes the tour operator needs to cancel this tour due to winds in the main whale habitat area. Make sure to provide Whale Safari with your contact details upon booking so we can contact you as soon as possible regarding any changes to your tour!

Although the tour sighting success is high the behaviour is the wild animals is unpredictable. Therefor the company has a "Whale Guarantee", if you are unlucky and can't seem to find any whales on the RIB tour you can try again for free on The Classic Tour on the larger boats in Reykjavík or in Akureyri North Iceland.
