This trip is suitable for families and small groups of friends who want to travel slowly, and enjoy all the delights each day has to offer. The tour includes 5 nights in Reykjavík with breakfast, lunches, entries as described below and a Professional driver guide during day times. Day 1: Arrival - The Blue Lagoon & Reykjavík City
Private car brings you to the Blue Lagoon, where you can bathe in its rich mineral waters ( bathing fee included) Soothed and relaxed, you had to your hotel in Reykjavík where you spend the five nights Early check-in and late lunch at hotel Reykjavík City tour At 03:00pm / 1500 meet your tour guide, and walk between Reykjavík Landmarks and drive to the nearest suburbs. Duration 3 - 4 hours Highlights: Harpa Concert Hall, The Pearl (Perlan), The old harbour, Lake Tjörnin, The University of Iceland, Nauthólfsvík beach, Hallgrímskirkja church and a coffee stop at the amazing sculpture museum of Sigurjón Ólafsson and enjoy home baked cakes in the cozy coffee/tea room with a view of the seaside. Day 2: Reykjavík Food Walk & Reykjanes Unesco Global Geopark Start the day by participating in a local experience and go to one of many Reykjavík's geothermal pools. At 12:30 you meet your special food guide and explore the city center like a local. You visit 5 - 6 brillant Icelandic restaurants and learn about our food & history. At 3 pm/ 15:00 you visit the UNESCO Global Geopark, duration 5 hours. The park covers major plate boundaries along the Mid Atlantic Ridge. Here on the Reykanes Peninsula the Ridge rises above sea-level, making it one of the handful of places on earth where it is visible. The park has 55 areas listed as geo-sites, and during tour tour we visit 5 - 6 sites with our guide. We explore Krýsuvík, an area with solfataras, fumaroles, mud pots and hot springs. The misterious Kleifarvatn Lake, the bridge between the contents and Garðskagi Lighthouse. Dinner at the old harbour in the fishing village of Grindavík If winter we may experience the Northern Lights on our way back to the hotel Day 3: The Golden Circle,
duration 8 hours After breakfast we meet the guide in the hotel lobby and head for the most popular tourist spots in Iceland. Highlights: Hveragerði, greenhouse village where we walk into Reykjadalur valley (Smoky valley) , Geysir Geothermal site which has some of the most amazing springs that sprout gracefully. You will also find Strokkur here, a very active geyser, Gullfoss, The Golden Waterfall which is also known as the queen of Iceland’s waterfalls. Thingvellir National Park, a site rich in history and with incredible geology. During the day we stop at Laugarvatn Fontana Spa, taste black bread at a geothermal bakery, taste tomato soup at a greenhouse restaurant and dairy products at a local form. It does not matter at what time of the day we visit each place, it may be in the morning or in the afternoon. Whatever time it is, one thing is certain, you will definitely spend your day within the beautiful environment of Iceland, its wonders of nature, and the fascinating geology.
Day 4: Borgarförður Fjord & the Glacier Langjökull
duration 10 hours, departure from Reykjavík at 07:30 After breakfast we head to the beautiful fjord Hvalfjörður before we stop at the wonderfool falls Hraunfossar fed with groundwater from beneath. At Húsafell we have some refreshments before we switch to supertrucks or snowmobiles (snowmobiles at extra cost) and head to Iceland's second-largest glacier, Langjökull . The panoramic views are absolutely stunning ! Our glacier experts take us into the glacier where we discover what lies beneath the ice on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Next stop is Krauma geothermal bath where we relax and enjoy local food from a nearby farm. Next stop is Deildartunguhver which is the highest-flow hot spring in Europe and on to the Settlement Center which provides a wonderful insight into Iceland's history. Day 5: Heiðmörk Nature Reserve
duration 6 hours, departure from Reykjavík at 1 pm / 13:00 Heiðmörk is the largest outdoor area in the vicinity of Reykjavík and belongs to the Green Scarf tha surrounds the entire Reykjavík area. The landscapes is diverse and we will walk through unbelievable lava formations on our hike to Búrfellsgjá crater (difficulty easy - medium) This area is the most popular oudoor area in Reykjavík. Day 6: Departure
