The Northern Lights (or Aurora Borealis) is one of the most beautiful phenomena in nature. Observing the distinctive green and purple lights shimmer in the night sky is a truly special experience, and the perfect highlight to a winter break.
On this holiday, the Northern Lights beckon during a guided journey to learn their shimmering secrets. No stop in Iceland is complete without a visit to the famous Blue Lagoon, where spa indulgences offer unearthly relaxation. You will also explore geothermal geysers, waterfalls and unique volcanic formations.
Day 1: Afternoon arrival with the Blue Lagoon
Geothermal Spa Upon arrival at Keflavik airport, pick up your car to the Blue Lagoon where you can bathe in its rich mineral waters (bathing fee included). Soothed and relaxed, head to Nesjavellir and check in at your hotel. In the evening you can go out to hunt the northern lights if the weather conditions allows. Day 2: The Golden Circle Tour National Park (UNESCO) - Spouting Geysers - Majestic Waterfall - Greenhouses Discover three of the most outstanding attractions in the south of Iceland. The first stop is at Thingvellir National Park, then onward to the Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir geothermal area. On the way you can stop at Greenhouse Fridheimar & Farm. In the Green house you can learn about environmentally-friendly way: green energy and taste a unique food experience. In the evening you can go out hunting the northern lights if the weather conditions allows. Day 3 - South coast shore
Today you'll visit the waterfalls of the south shore, where you can walk behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and climb the stairs to get an even greater view of Skogafoss Waterfall. At Reynisfjara, a black sand beach and seabird colonies you'll see Reynisdrangar, pillars of rock rising majestically out of the ocean. In the evening you can go out to hunt the northern lights if the weather conditions allows. Optional activities: Glacier walk on Solheimajökull, Snowmobile on Mýrdalsjökull Glacier. Free day for leisure - departure If your flight is in the afternoon, use your last moments to explore the history of Reykjavik by visiting museums, Hallgrimskirkja church and Harpa Music Hall & Conference center. In the evening it's great to take a walk down Laugavegur and explore restaurants, bars and different boutiques.or if you still need to relax, visit one of the city's swimming pools. There you can chat with the locals while relaxing in the geothermal mist. Depart with plenty of memories and an adventure that will certainly impress, and entertain your friends and family for years to come. We recommend you depart your hotel no later than three hours before your flight. Car rental return is located at Keflavík International Airport. Not included in package:
